It is actually very grey. The reason is that there are several factors that favor the idea of given our car to the dealer in exchange, including certain financial benefits that go beyond just the total amount we receive for our trade-in, as well as reasons that will make things a lot easier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSelling a vehicle ourselves is not as easy as some people think. You have to plan for several meetings with people who are more or less interested in actually buying our vehicle, and there are legal implications as well. Also, the actual monetary difference between the amount we receive from the dealer and from the market is not as wide as we may initially think. In short, there are quite a few factors to take into consideration,\u201d says a sales representative at<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lexusofkingston.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lexus of Kingston<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>So, what are some of the advantages of trading in our vehicle at the dealership? First, the amount obtained will be applied before taxes on the price of our new vehicle. For example, if our new car costs $ 20,000 and we get $ 10,000 for our old car, the amount on which tax will be calculated is $ 10,000. Conversely, the amount an individual gets from selling his or her vehicle by themselves is applied after taxes on the price of the new vehicle. This somewhat narrows the price difference between the two amounts.<\/p>\n<p>Also, we must keep in mind that there is a lot of effort that goes into selling our vehicle ourselves. We must meet with different potential buyers, put the car on various pre-owned vehicle websites, and ensure that it is in good mechanical condition, and so on. By trading in our vehicle, we avoid all of this.<\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt that the amount received when we trade in our car will be less than its market value.
