Refreshingly, it looks quite similar to the concept first seen in 2013. It\u2019s not entirely surprising, for chief designer Alfonso Alba\u00efsa was adamant during his press conference at the New York International Auto Show that the production model\u2019s chief design cues would reflect those seen on the concept.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Infiniti-Q30-.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1883\" src=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Infiniti-Q30-.jpeg\" alt=\"Infiniti-Q30-\" width=\"1048\" height=\"581\" srcset=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Infiniti-Q30-.jpeg 1048w, http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Infiniti-Q30--300x166.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Infiniti-Q30--1024x567.jpeg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1048px) 100vw, 1048px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s quite the looker, too; the lines are taut and crisp, and provide an interesting window into the evolution of Infiniti design. The curves are actually a little more pronounced, a little more defined and provide better proportions for the Q30 than did the concept. We still haven\u2019t seen the rear or the cabin environs, but if the view we have is any indication, they\u2019ll stick close to what was seen on the concept. In addition to the model seen here, expect a QX30 mini-utility, adventure-type version, \u00e0 la Fiat 500X Trekking. Don&#8217;t be surprised if that&#8217;s the only version we see in North America.<\/p>\n<p>No engine specs have been announced but a closer inspection of the image shows some \u201c2.2d\u201d scripting on the front wing. It\u2019s an indication that parent company Nissan\u2019s recent partnership with Mercedes-Benz on the mechanical front is beginning to bear fruit; a 2.2-litre diesel engine developed by Mercedes will likely be found under the Q30\u2019s hood. For now, we\u2019ll estimate the power at 168 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, all channeled through a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic, also shared with Mercedes.<\/p>\n<p>The Q30 and its QX30 derivative will arrive sometime next year as a 2016 or 2017 model, depending on Infinitit\u2019s release strategy.
