We are on a steep slope or in a parking lot and we are unfortunately not able to move forward. The ice and snow prevent us from moving. This is a particularly frustrating situation, but the good news is that such a situation can be avoided with a little preparation and a bit of technique.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/dreamstime_s_37121320.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2665\" src=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/dreamstime_s_37121320.jpg\" alt=\"advice winter driving\" width=\"800\" height=\"532\" srcset=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/dreamstime_s_37121320.jpg 800w, http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/dreamstime_s_37121320-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are some tips to avoid getting caught this winter, or if stuck, how to get out of it.<\/p>\n<p>Before you get stuck<\/p>\n<p>Your winter tires will play a very important and decisive role. If you want to avoid getting stuck in the snow or ice, it all starts with good winter tires. The tires are the only point of contact between you and the road, so make sure they are of good quality and above all, their design can adequately remove snow. This also means that they must be in good condition.<\/p>\n<p>If you are currently looking for a new or used vehicle, and you hate not being able to get yourself out properly of a snowbank or up steep inclines, opt for an all-wheel drive vehicle. Having four wheels propelling you forward greatly helps in the winter and allows you to get you out of nearly any situation.<\/p>\n<p>If you are stuck<\/p>\n<p>Remember to be gentle. Mashing the accelerator will not help, all you will do is form a layer of ice under the tires. Use salt or a shovel to remove snow and ice around your tires, and use the back and forth technique (quickly going from Reverse to Drive and moving as far as you can go in each direction) to gradually get out of any snowbank.<\/p>\n<p>If you have to climb a steep slope, make sure you have enough room to get up the hill without having to brake or slow down.
