Some more or less honest companies took advantage of that fact and created additives called fuel savers, products that promise to improve fuel economy through various and sometimes downright dishonest methods.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/sum.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3134\" src=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/sum.jpg\" alt=\"sum\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/sum.jpg 800w, http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/sum-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/sum-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The bottom line, however, is that these products do not work. The only way to reduce fuel economy is to adopt eco-friendly driving habits, research vehicles in your price range and find the one with the best fuel economy rating, opt for a hybrid or electric vehicle, and properly maintain your vehicle\u2019s engine and other important mechanical components.<\/p>\n<p>Most fuel savers are simply ineffective, but others can actually damage your engine or some of the internal components of your vehicle. Here are a few examples of fuel saver companies that have been banned from selling their product, of fined for false advertising.<\/p>\n<p>BioPerformance \u2013 a small pill that was banned by a court in Texas in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Fuel Saver \u2013 heavily fined in both Canada and the United States for false advertising.<\/p>\n<p>PVI \u2013 fined in 2002 for false advertising.<\/p>\n<p>Econopro \u2013 banned from the market in 2006 for creating a product that had no effect whatsoever on fuel economy.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, buyers will want to stay away from any fuel saver system that has not been approved by a registered and trustworthy government organization, and so far there is no such product on the market.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elitebmw.com\/en\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Elite BMW<\/span><\/a> for their help with this article.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the price of fuel going up and down constantly, many consumers are looking for ways to reduce their vehicle\u2019s fuel consumption.
