If you\u2019ve been hearing about the new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor a lot recently, that\u2019s because Ford has been talking about it, well, a lot. The American manufacturer likes to reveal small details here and there about its upcoming models like the Raptor, and each time the media talks about it. That\u2019s to be expected.<\/p>\n

Therefore, there has been quite a bit of news in the media recently about the 2017 Raptor, Ford\u2019s biggest and meanest F-150.<\/p>\n

The picture, however, is getting a little clearer now as we learned that the 3.5-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 that powers the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will develop 450 horsepower and a whopping 510 lb-ft of torque. All of that will be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Yes, 10 speeds.<\/p>\n

Compared to the former Raptor and its 6.2-liter engine, the new generation gets 39 more horsepower while being lighter by about 227 kilos. Performance should be quite impressive.<\/p>\n

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will be just as impressive off-road as it will be on it as it is equipped with a transfer case in addition to the Ford\u2019s Terrain Management System that adjusts the truck\u2019s settings according to six different driving modes including the Baja mode. This puts the Raptor in 4 High while adjusting the settings of the engine and the gearbox for higher performance, all the while keeping the stability control system intrusions to a minimum.<\/p>\n

All that remains is to learn more about the price, as well as the 2017 F150 Raptor\u2019s launch date.<\/p>\n
