Mercedes-Benz wants to electrify its entire range of vehicles by 2022, starting with smart which will only offer electric vehicles by 2020.<\/p>\n

Then, a combination of electric and hybrid models will be added, and the German manufacturer expects that by 2025, sales of electrified models will be equivalent to those of traditionally-powered vehicles.<\/p>\n

This electrification strategy will invariably lead to several new models, for example the Mercedes-Benz EQA presented as a concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show.<\/p>\n

The EQA presents everything that is expected of a concept. The grille is composed of lights that can change color according to the selected driving mode, there is no visible handle to access the cockpit, and the wheels are far too big to be used on a production version .<\/p>\n

That said, the electric powertrain seems much more realistic. Mercedes-Benz announces a range of up to 250 kilometers when using the 60 kWh lithium-ion battery, and the German manufacturer suggests that other battery options would be available.<\/p>\n

According to Mercedes-Benz, it will be possible to get about 100 kilometers of range after only 10 minutes of charging.<\/p>\n
