As expected, the latest addition to BMW\u2019s lineup is a soft top, the new i8 Roadster joining the Coupe for the 2019 model year. Obviously, the Bavarian had a few more models to talk about at this year\u2019s Los Angeles Auto Show, but the newest member of the family is definitely the i8 Roadster.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The soft top added to the i8 means that the rear seats are a thing of the past. But there\u2019s an advantage in this, the space between the seats and the 3-cylinder turbo engine giving the passengers an extra 100 liters of luggage space. The 88 liters in the booth remain unchanged, so you can carry a few more goodies on your next road trip.<\/p>\n

BMW gave its powertrain a few extra horsepowers, the grand total reaching 374. On top of this extra grunt, the range in full electric mode is extended to 53 km in the Roadster and 54 in the Coupe.<\/p>\n

Both versions are expected to hit showrooms in the spring of 2018, and in case you wondered, the beautiful butterfly doors remain on the Roadster.<\/p>\n
