It’s not easy to take a Porsche and improve it. Porsche is already at the forefront of driving dynamics and performance, and trying to find a weak spot in their development is a nearly impossible task.
It explains why so few companies are experimenting. Among those that managed to get a reputation in the field of Porsche modifications, there is Gemballa, Ruf, and obviously Techart.
The latter has just recently unveiled a group of options for the new Porsche Panamera named GrandGT. Among the changes to the Panamera series, we noted an aggressive and functional aerodynamic package overall, new rims, engine improvements and a revamped interior.
The aerodynamics of the GrandGT not only make the Panamera seem bulkier, it actually increases the size of the car. In fact, the GrandGT is 42 mm wider in the front, and 84 mm at the rear. The car can accommodate 21 or 22-inch rims.
Under the hood, a variety of modifications are available, but only on the Porsche Panamera Turbo. Techart engineers have managed to increase the power of the 4.8L turbocharged Panamera Turbo engine to 580-horsepower. Unlike other companies that do modifications, the overall performance of the Techart GrandGT can be removed from the car if, for example, the owner wants to sell it. Moreover, it’s a separate unit that is activated by pressing a button on the dashboard. And finally, changes to the engine of the Porsche Panamera Turbo are covered by a 2-year warranty.
Those wishing to enjoy the Techart to the max can also opt to change the interior of their Porsche Panamera. The overall result includes an exclusive leather and elaborately applied carbon fibre developed in the Techart laboratory.
