We feel in the morning and at night, as the temperature is starting to dip awfully close to freezing. With a little preparation, we will be in a good position to make sure we are safe until spring comes along.<\/p>\n<p>First thing\u2019s first, we need winter tires. In Quebec, the law makes it mandatory to have winter tires on your vehicle by December 15<sup>th<\/sup>. That said, be careful not to skimp on the quality of your winter tires. They need to be adapted to the type of driving you will be doing, and most importantly they cannot be too worn out. So, make sure you have good, safe tires on your vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Next step is to have your vehicle serviced if need be. You want quality oil and fluids in your vehicle when facing extreme colds and the strain that driving in snow puts on your vehicle\u2019s mechanical components. You also want your battery to be ready to go in order to start every morning. So, drop in to your dealership and have your vehicle serviced and checked for any potential problems that could surface in the next few months.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, make sure you have a survival kit in your car. That means that you should always carry around a shovel, booster cables, salt, gloves, an extra coat, a hat, and some windshield washer fluid.
