Many have thus decided to look into alternative propulsion systems, like hybrid engines for example, although a lot of questions still remain. The main one revolves around what it&#8217;s actually like to drive a hybrid vehicle. In essence, there are few differences, and the main advantage is that your fuel consumption numbers will never have been lower.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ford-C-Max.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3009\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3009\" src=\"http:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ford-C-Max.jpg\" alt=\"Ford C-Max\" width=\"657\" height=\"424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ford-C-Max.jpg 657w, https:\/\/luxurycarmagazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ford-C-Max-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 657px) 100vw, 657px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In essence, there is very little difference in the behaviour of a hybrid vehicle on the road and a conventional vehicle with a similarly-powered engine. What you will notice is that your vehicle is completely quiet when you start it up. It also is often very quiet in the city when driving at low speeds because only the electric engine is powering the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of performance, most hybrid vehicles have different driving modes. One mode powers the vehicle only on electric power while the other uses a combination of the gas engine and the electric motor. There is sometimes a &#8220;sport&#8221; mode which uses both engines to improve performance. Either way, you will most often notice more low-end torque as the electric engine is called upon first and electric motors deliver their torque immediately with no lag or hesitation.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of plug-in hybrids, the main difference is that the electric motor has more range to function on its own. That means that you can often drive between 20 and 50 kilometers without using fuel. As the name implies, plug-in hybrid vehicles are usually plugged in at night to get their full range.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the improved fuel economy and the silence at startup and in the city, there are basically no differences between driving a hybrid vehicle and a traditionnal vehicle.
