The new 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Meanwhile, the German manufacturer has released more information concerning their new luxury compact sedan.

That being said, the new 2015 C-Class can no longer be regarded as a compact car. The vehicle’s wheelbase has increased by 80 mm, while the overall length gained 95 mm. It’s also wider by about 40 mm. As a result, it should enable the car to provide a more comfortable interior than the previous generation, which was notably less spacious than several competitors.

In addition, buyers of the new 2015 C-Class will be better protected since the vehicle will come equipped, either standard or as an option, with an range of active safety systems. Consumers can keep an eye out for the COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS, DISTRONIC PLUS with Steering Assist, a Brake Assist System and Enhanced Active Lane Keeping Assist. There is even a technology that will alert the driver when driving in the opposite direction on a one way road.

Under the hood the choice lies between five types of petrol engines, three diesel engines and a diesel hybrid. However, Mercedes-Benz did not confirm which engines will end up on this side of the Atlantic.

More information will be available when the Detroit Auto Show is open to the press in a few weeks.
