The Porsche 911 is a veritable icon. The sporty German has an aura pf prestige and performance that’s accompanied it since its creation, and it never disappoints.
Also true, however, are the “touch-ups” that tend to come every year. Which is what happens when you’re working with styling that hasn’t really changed since its inception in the mid-‘60s. At this years North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI, two of the most powerful versions of the Turbo took centre stage at the Porsche booth.
Still, we expect the same refinement, the same muscular presence and style that these have always maintained, even though they get a boost in power for 2017.
The twin-turbo flat-6 now provides 540 horsepower in the Turbo and 580 in the Turbo S, 20 more than the previous generation. The two models will be able to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in less than three seconds, helped along by a dual-clutch PDK automatic gearbox.
