Small tips to preserve the resale value of your car

Whether you want to sell your car in two, four or six years, or you have no idea when you want to sell, the fact remains that it is possible to preserve the resale value of our car from the moment you buy it. By making sure you protect your vehicle from the start, it will be possible to present a car in perfect condition in a few years when you are going to want to get rid of it.

Here are some relatively inexpensive tips and products that will give you an interesting return on investment later.

The wrap

The wrap is a really useful plastic film that protects your vehicle’s paint and sensitive parts of its body against small rocks and other scratches that may occur while you own the vehicle. Costing a few hundred dollars, this is a smart investment that will save you more expensive repairs later when you want to sell your car.

Also, check if your vehicle is protected against rust from the factory. If not, you’ll want to add that protection as well.

Interior protective products

Protecting your cockpit before you hit the road for the first time with your vehicle is an investment that pays off in terms of resale value. Useful protections are first and foremost a fabric sealant that protects your seats against stains as well as moisturizing products for your leather seats. This will prevent cracks that form over time. Then be sure to equip your vehicle with winter mats before the first snow arrives to avoid traces of calcium which can be hard to remove.

Recommended maintenance

Perform all maintenance recommended by the manufacturer, and you will be able to present a complete maintenance history when it comes time to sell your vehicle. A complete maintenance report will confirm that your vehicle is in good condition and that the next owner can buy it with confidence.
