Acura announces Canadian pricing for 2017 NSX

So, you’ve got a few bucks burning a hole in your pocket. Maybe you’ve just come into a nice inheritance. Maybe you’re a tech billionaire like Tony Stark. Maybe you just hit the lotto. Whatever the case may be, it’s time to decide which supercar you’re after.

If the apple of your eye happens to be the “we’re almost done” soon-to-arrive Acura NSX, then you’ll need to be one of the above to afford it.

Acura Canada has just released the price of the 2017 NSX, and it’s no small sum; $189,900 to start, and $250,100 with all the option boxes ticked. We’ll save you the need to check; that’s more than you’ll pay for a base Audi R8 4.2 FSI, Mecedes-AMG GT S or—and this is a big one—the BMW i8.

It’s a big one because like the NSX, the i8 is a hybrid sports car (OK, I guess you could say the NSX is a supercar, but we’re fairly certain these two will be cross-shopped by some) that’s been making headlines lately. Thing is, while many of the headlines surrounding the NSX have been of the “is it done yet?” and “are they still doing it?” variety, journalists have been singing the i8’s praises left, right and centre.

However; with all the tech—not to mention the almost cult-like status the NSX nameplate carries with it—there’s plenty to like about the new car. While they still haven’t said when the first deliveries are going to arrive, the fact that the price has been released and that a configurator will be online soon all point to the end of what has been a long, long wait for many.
