New 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 presented in Geneva

The Porsche 911 GT3 is not the fastest 911 (that would be the Turbo S), but it is certainly the model to be preferred if we want to have fun on a circuit. This is even more true with the new Porsche 911 GT3 unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show.

Porsche 911

Powered by a 4.0-liter, flat six engine developing 500 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2018 911 GT3 is capable of reaching 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds when equipped with the dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission. It will also be possible to opt for a 7-speed manual transmission. With the latter, it takes about 3.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

But what really matters with a model like the 911 GT3 is how it holds its own on the track. The new GT3, including several elements of the GT3 R and the 911 RSR, will include a steering system for the rear axle which aims to improve the handling of the vehicle by one notch by turning the rear wheels in the Opposite direction of the front wheels.

Visually, the model incorporates the elements of the new 911 with a slightly modified front fascia while a rear diffuser, aggressive aerodynamic package and an large carbon wing make it possible to differentiate the GT3 version.

The Porsche 911 GT3 2018 is available starting at $ 163,300 and will be available in the fall.
